Whether you live on the East Coast or the West Cost, down South or up North, you probably have done your fair share of outdoor entertaining. Be it a family get together, or just having some friends over for a cookout, outdoor entertaining is enjoyed by almost everyone, everywhere.
One aspect that makes your outdoor entertaining really come together is your patio. From the lighting to your choice of patio furniture, a nice display really helps bring the party all together. And when you feel good about the way your patio looks, you feel less stressed and can enjoy your summertime entertaining all the more. If you want to add year round patio usability consider your different backyard awning options.
So let’s start with patio lighting. There are so many different types of lights to choose from for your patio. Solar patio lights are becoming increasingly more popular. With everyone becoming more energy conscious, and the constant increase in the cost of living, solar patio lights seem like the smart choice. They come in an array of different styles to meet almost every one’s patio lighting needs. They are cost effective; you pay nothing to operate them because they are powered by the sun’s energy.
Also available in solar lighting are garden lights. These usually stake into the ground or even take the shape of small lanterns that can be hung on shepherds hooks or hung from tree’s or other out buildings.
Of course if you live somewhere where you don’t get as much sun, and you are worried about your lights being to shaded to work, there are a number of patio and garden lights that run off of electricity. These too, can be somewhat cost effective as most of them run off of 12 volts of electricity, compared to the typical 120 volts. The other nice thing about the 12 volt lighting systems, are that because they are low voltage, you do not need an electrician to install them. Making them the perfect lighting system for the do-it-yourselfer.
Another beautiful touch you could add to your outdoor patio setting is outdoor sconces. They come in everything from candle sconces, to electric, and even solar powered. They can be found in many different styles to fit most any one’s taste. Hanging them around the house or deck can add a beautiful lighting option that is sure to be enjoyed by all of your guests. Also the low lighting available by using the candle sconces helps cut down on light pollution. Also consider adding a fire pit to your patio. I have 2 on my patio, one is a gas fire pit and the other is a wood burning one. I love them both. Look at your local store like Lowes or Home Depot or shop online to get ideas for the best fire pit design for you and your family.
Now to top off your perfect patio, you must have the perfect patio furniture. Why not Wicker? It’s got a timeless appeal. Wicker adds elegance, charm and character to your outdoor living space and it is available in chairs, couches, and even outdoor benches.
